Audio Art Cable Special Edition
Does the hot-rodder break the law of diminishing returns? Or, what’s the verdict on the AudioArt Special Edition cables? Picture this enviable dilemma. The original AudioArt line of cables gained an excellent reputation and several awards based on the concept of high quality for budget prices. Mr. Fritz adopted the direct sales model and enlisted the help of Mr. Darren Hovsepian of DH Labs fame to design his product. That direct sales model coupled with offshore manufacture to his specification has allowed him to offer a highly competitive line at inexpensive pricing. Good sound. True high value. Good reviews. Awards. What to do for an encore?

Audio Art SE cables
I am a fan of cables, but I am not a fan of cable reviews. Oh, like you, I LOVE to read them, but writing them? Feh. Try it sometime. Listen to some cable versus some others like you always do, then, when you think you’ve nailed it and are ready to write that killer Audiogon review, throw in the mandatory reviewers' monkey wrench we call switching up speakers and components.

Audio Art Cable IC-3SE Interconnects
by Sid Vootla
My communication with Robert Fritz of Audio Art Cable about his IC-3SE interconnects began late last summer, when he hinted at the development of a higher-grade and more expensive version of the IC-3, which I reviewed in early 2006. My review of the IC-3 concluded that it was an excellent value for money at the introductory price of $85 USD per meter pair (currently at $114.99). Well, by this standard, the IC-3SE, at $239 a meter pair, can almost be considered a "cost no object" design, though by audiophile standards it's an entry-level offering. But then, that is the very premise on which Robert operates his business: offering products that return value multiple times over their asking prices, especially in comparison to the competition.

Audio Art Power 1 AC Power Cord
By Marvin Bolden
As I am in the middle of looking for some new affordable power cables for my system, I decided to give Robert Fritz at Audio Art Cables a call since he has just recently started to sell power cables. I am no stranger to Rob as I use his wonderful IC-3 interconnects as one of my reference cables and have a pair of his SC-5 speaker cables in my second system.

Great Budget Cable!
The Audio Art SC-5 Speaker Cables
If you recall last year, we gave the Audio Art interconnects one of our exceptional value awards for 2007. For around a hundred bucks, they make a great pair of interconnects and for $115, ($130 with banana plugs and double for bi wired) they make an equally good pair of speaker cables.

AudioArt Power 1 Cord
By Mark Marcantonio
Issue Twenty One, September 2007
As a kid growing up, debates varied by age, first it was sports, from baseball cards and players, to football teams (it was hard being a Bronco fan in the 60’s and early 70’s). My saving grace in debates with those evil Raider and Chief fans, was one Rich “Tombstone” Jackson, one of the NFL’s all-time great pass rushers, and the man many consider to be the reason the head slap was outlawed.

Audio Art Interconnect IC-3 and SC-5 Speaker Cables:
A System Approach (cable review follow up and addition)
By Stew Nelless
Issue Nineteen, July 2007
A while ago I did a review of the Audio Art IC-3 and IC-5 interconnects, affordable cables that have gained a reputation for great sound and stellar value. I really believe in a system approach regarding cabling, so I asked for a review sample of the loudspeaker cable that Rob Fritz has to offer.

Audio Art – The Man – The Company
One brand of cables that has seen off its share of more expensive brands in many a reviewers’ system is DH Labs Silver Sonic. From their innovative Air Matrix interconnects to the redoubtable T-14 speaker cables, since opening up shop in the early 90’s, they have maintained one of the best reps in the high-end for all-out performance at less than all-out prices.

Dave Clark talks up SonicFlare and Audio Art Cables
Yup, Dave Clark, editor of open-source internet publication Positive Feedback Online, mentions yours truly in his recent "Audio Ramblings" column. Go check out the article for all the goods and more about this whole iPod/high-end convergence thing. I should probably mention that this didn't come out of the blue because, you know, I had dinner with Dave a few weeks back, but hey, what can you do.

Then there are people like Josh Ray of SonicFlare, who are taking this on by going after the iPod generation. His site is all about getting the word out to people his age (early 20s) that it does not have to be expensive, it does not have to be about older white guys sitting around by themselves listening to audio-drivel, it does not have to be complex, and that it does not have to exclude your interests—your wants and needs! His site is linked to the sites that the younger people (like we used to be) flock to for music and information—music sites, iPod sites, gadget sites, etc.

Audio Art Cable IC-3 Interconnects and SC-5 Speaker Cables
by Sid Vootla
Evaluating interconnects and speaker cables is always a challenge due to the fact that they are supposed to transmit the signal from one component to another and not have a sound of their own. They should be neutral and faithfully transmit the signal fed to them, although this is not always the case. A cable can -- and many times does -- impose its own idiosyncrasies on the signal, thus compromising the sound. So a reviewer has to try and distinguish between a known pristine signal and any addition or deletion the cable is making. The only way to determine this is by listening and comparing, comparing and listening.
